GQWEST offers unique laundry shop biz
 

With today’s fast-paced and highly urbanized lifestyle of the Filipinos, the need for personal laundry services is growing, and the laundry shop business is proving to be a hit investment option.

Capitalizing on this market trend is Global Quality Waters and Environmental Solutions Technologies, Inc. (GQWEST), mother company of top water-refilling brand Aquabest. GQWEST has come up with another business concept, its own laundry shop line.

“Laundry is a complimentary business to a water-refilling station. About 60 percent of the water you filter is discarded as waste. By putting up a laundry shop, you can now use that as well,” said Carson Tan, GQWEST chief executive officer.

Available in a combo-store set up, current operators of GQWEST water-refilling brands can now expand their business by offering laundry service. New franchisees, likewise, can opt to invest in a two-in-one business set up. 

“With our laundry concept, you can either build in your existing water-refilling outlet a second floor, or if the space is really big enough, it can accommodate both set up. If it’s too small, you have to find another one, preferably an adjacent space. If it’s paired with an Aquabest we call it LaundryBest; with an Aquaquest, it’s Laundry Quest, and so on,” explained Tan.

GQWEST’s concept offers many advantages. By setting up a combination laundry shop and water-refilling outlet, the franchisee gains improved competitive edge. Adds Tan, “The franchisee gets a lot of savings on water, electricity, manpower, and transportation, and savings is profit. You can even have the business registered as an enterprise and that enables you to offer a lot more.”
 
To operate the water-refilling cum laundry shop business, franchisees, Tan reiterated, must have the proper mindset in terms of entrepreneurial skills. They must also know how to mingle with the common folk. “We are in the service business, so the franchisee has to be accommodating when dealing with any customer.”
